Warranty Policy

Purpose

This page explains the warranties applicable to products sold on lightable.uk and the conditions for benefiting from them.


1) Statutory Rights (Reminder – UK Law)

Consumer Rights Act 2015

Under UK law, all products must be:

  • of satisfactory quality,
  • fit for purpose,
  • and as described.

The customer has the right to:

  • repair or replacement of the product if it is faulty or not as described,
  • a price reduction or refund if repair or replacement is impossible or disproportionate.

These statutory rights apply for up to 2 years from delivery, depending on the nature of the defect and reasonable expectations for the product category.

Statutory remedies are provided free of charge to the customer.

Consumer Protection Act 1987

This legislation applies where a defect makes the product unsafe or significantly reduces its expected use.

The customer may:

  • return the product and obtain a refund, or
  • keep the product and receive a partial refund.

2) Lightable Commercial Warranty (2 years)

In addition to statutory rights, lightable.uk offers a 2-year commercial warranty, starting from the purchase date shown on the invoice.

What is covered

  • Manufacturing defects (e.g. misaligned components, assembly issues, unstable base).
  • Abnormal degradation during indoor use (e.g. irregular premature discolouration without prolonged sun exposure).
  • Structural or stability issues due to a factory assembly defect.

What is not covered

  • Outdoor use without shelter or prolonged exposure to rain, wind, or direct sunlight (unless explicitly stated “outdoor use” on the product page).
  • Normal wear (dust, marks), improper storage (compression, excessive heat).
  • Incorrect cleaning (corrosive products, solvents, water on flocked models).
  • Drops, modifications, damage caused by animals.
  • Products not purchased on lightable.uk or without proof of purchase.

Duration

2 years from the purchase date shown on the lightable.uk invoice.
Repair or replacement does not extend or renew the commercial warranty period.


3) Eligibility Conditions

  • Purchase made on lightable.uk.
  • Proper use following the product’s intended purpose (mainly indoor use, unless indicated otherwise).
  • Proof of purchase kept (order number, invoice).
  • Defect reported as soon as it appears, with clear photos or videos.

4) Claim Procedure (Steps)

Send an email to contact@lightable.uk (subject: Warranty – order number).

Include:

  • order number,
  • purchase date,
  • detailed description of the defect,
  • date the issue appeared.

Attach:

  • photos/videos (wide shot + close-up).

A response will be provided within 48 business hours with instructions (diagnosis, part replacement, exchange, or return).

Important:
Do not return any product without our prior agreement.
The return address and instructions (label/RMA) will be provided by our customer service once the claim is approved.


5) Solutions Provided (Priority Order)

  • Repair or replacement part when possible.
  • Exchange for an identical or equivalent product (if the model is no longer available).
  • Refund if no other solution can be provided within a reasonable time.

Transport Costs

If covered under warranty, Lightable covers return and reshipping costs, according to the instructions provided by email.

Any parcel returned without approval or to an address not provided by our customer service may be refused.

If the product is not covered by the warranty, a cost-effective alternative may be offered (replacement part, discount, preferential shipping rate, etc.).


6) Damaged Product Upon Delivery

Report any issue (missing or damaged product) within 48 hours to contact@lightable.uk, with photos/videos.
Depending on the situation, a replacement, part replacement, or refund will be offered.

The return address is not the company’s head office and will be provided by customer service after the case is opened.


7) Territorial Scope

The Lightable commercial warranty applies to orders delivered to United Kingdom.
Statutory rights under UK consumer law apply independently of this commercial warranty.

9) Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR – UK)

UK consumers may use an ADR body approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) for out-of-court dispute resolution.
